The Church and Community Fund

This fund offers grants up to £15,000 to community projects run by parish churches, deaneries and others working in partnership with the Church of England to take the church out into the community. The criteria are broad and, for example, could include funding a youth worker or an elderly lunch club. The next application deadline is 30 October 2009.

Listed Places of Worship Scheme

This still exists. While terms and conditions are a bit complex it is still a source for grant funding.

Princes Trust Community Cash Awards

Grants for individuals – young people aged between 14 and 25, setting up a community project that clearly benefits the community. Funding of up to £1,000 is available for 14-16 year olds who are in school but struggling or up to £5,000 for those aged 16-25 who are unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week.
Formal groups, expeditions or non-educational trips and outings are not eligible.

Training Bursaries from B-Supported

Need Training but have no money to pay for it? Does your group have an income of less than £50,000 per year?
B-Supported has a bursary fund to pay for training for small voluntary & community groups, working in the Bradford District. Voluntary and community groups with a total annual income of £20,000 or less can apply for a bursary to meet the full course fees. Groups with an annual income of between £20,000 and £50,000 can apply for a bursary of 50% of the course fees.
The fund can pay for training for staff, Management Committee Members and Volunteers. Training eligible is any which will improve the effectiveness, efficiency or sustainability of the group, with a focus on voluntary sector specific skills. (All Bradford CVS courses listed on the Learning & Training page are eligible.) Organisations can apply for up to £100 over the project life (01/10/07 – 30/09/10).
