It was the first time the bell had rung for 100 years at a school which is thought to be the oldest primary school in England still occupying its original building.
John Townend, School Trustee and Churchwarden of St Wilfrid's said, "As well as celebrating the start of the London Olympics, it was a great opportunity to thank all those who'd done so much to get the bell working again, and with a crowd of over 60 and coverage on BBC Look North it was a great event." |

At 8.12am on Friday 27 July, the newly restored Burnsall School bell was for rung for three minutes to mark the first day of the Olympics - along with many church bells in the Bradford Diocese.
