The standard Ecclesiastical insurance policy only covers activities under the control of the PCC. It does not cover ecumenical activities controlled by e.g. a Churches Together group, even if it happens in the Parish Church.
Methodist Insurance plc (part of the Ecclesiastical group, at the same address) now offers a 'Churches Together' public liability insurance policy for £63 per year, covering regular management meetings and up to 6 events with a maximum attendance of 250 people at each.
This seems to be good value (it is half the price of a single-event insurance previously available!).
