Bishop Robert is a true Celt having been born in Wales of Scottish descent. He is married to Pauline, an RE teacher and they have three grown-up children. After studying English and Theology in Durham he served as a curate in Manchester and then for 33 years as a parish priest in Wales. He is currently Chair of the Central Readers’ Council and is Vice Chair of the Fresh Expressions Board and of the Liturgical Commission. Somewhere amongst all that lot he is making time to come to Bradford!
Next year Diocesan Day will be held on Saturday April 17th and again the venue will be Bradford Grammar School. The main theme, though not necessarily the title, will be Ministry For Mission – the last of the Future Faithful themes to be given the ‘Diocesan-Day-Treatment’!
As at previous events there will be a wide range of seminars, worship, an exhibition, and time to meet people from across the Diocese. On-line booking will open early in the New Year and publicity will also be mailed to all clergy and PCC secretaries for those who prefer it that way. Put the date in your diary now and if you can encourage people to come from your parish, especially those who haven’t been before, I think we can promise them a great day!
