The group is a contact point for parishes and individuals seeking resources for spiritual development. The work of the group is divided between both activities
Spiritual Direction
We focus on developing and maintaining the ministry of spiritual direction in the diocese. To this end we hold an annual residential consultation at Parcevall Hall guided by Henry Morgan, our consultant. This is open to those engaged in this ministry, lay and clerical, on a first come first served basis.
The group runs courses in Spiritual Direction. We are planning a course to begin in September 2008.
We run occasional introductory workshops and short courses
We hold a list of recognised spiritual directors:
"Spiritual direction is the practice of being with people as they attempt to deepen their relationship with the divine, or to learn and grow in their own personal spirituality. The person seeking direction shares stories of his or her encounters of the divine, or how he or she is experiencing spiritual issues. The director listens and asks questions to assist the directee in his or her process of reflection and spiritual growth.
