Who we are
|
Bradford is one of 44 Dioceses in the Church of England. We have 176 clergy (just under a third are women), and 165 churches in 126 parishes. We have 59 church schools, two of which are thriving secondary schools in the heart of Bradford. Church schools are open to all, and in fact, some of the primary schools are 70-80% Muslim. We're involved in around 125 community projects (many of which we've set up). Around 3000 volunteers keep these projects going and thousands more work through the churches to help the most vulnerable communities in both rural and urban areas. The diocese is divided into two Archdeaconries - the more urban Bradford Archdeaconry and the largely rural Craven Archdeaconry.
