World Church Links
To many in Bradford, "Links" does not mean "Internet Hyperlinks". Instead, the word conjures up our partnership arrangements with Christians in other parts of the world.
The multi-faith and multi-ethnic character of Bradford City and its neighbours makes an atmosphere in which a close interest in the Indian subcontinent is a natural concern.
The Diocese itself is officially linked with three other parts of the world:
Our link with Erfurt in Germany is a newer, ecumenical link. As it is easily accessible, it offers the possibility for training and study visits as well as parish exposure visits.
Bradford Diocese has a long-standing link with Southwestern Virginia. Many parishes have established parish-to-parish links which are sustained by e-mail contacts, letters and exchange visits.
Following a very successful exchange of curates with Southwestern Virginian assistant clergy, we are looking to include a similar parish-to-parish exchange in the post-ordination training programme. There is also a bi-annual youth exchange.
