Welcome to the Youth and Children's pages for the Diocese of Bradford
My name is Steve Grasham, I am Children’s and Young People’s Adviser for the Diocese of Bradford.
I have worked in the diocese for ten years before taking up this new post. I am really excited about the possibilities. The prime objective of my role is to support and encourage the development of work with children and young people within the Diocese. I am already aware of much of the fantastic work with children and young people that happens across the Diocese and now have the opportunity to build on this. Last year the Archbishops’ Council Education Division produced a report ‘Going for Growth' in which it challenges, ‘the church at all levels to consider its ministry to, and with, young people and how it is embodying Good News for them.’
The vision for the work in Bradford is to
- work towards every child and young person having a life-enhancing encounter with the Christian faith and the person of Jesus Christ.
- recognise and welcome the capacity of children and young people to transform the church and the world
- provide support and development for all those working with children and young people
